Pretty and Chic Halloween Costumes

It's Halloween again!  Looking back at the last 6 years, I've seen how we evolved when it comes to choosing Mary’s Halloween costumes.

From being a simple pumpkin when she was 4 months old to being a Twilight Sparkle now that she’s 6, I have never imagined how fun it is to prepare for my daughter’s Halloween costumes. But I've also realized how the age of my daughter influenced how much time and money I should spend for a Halloween costume. Now that she’s a school girl and she attends at least 5 Halloween events a year, a costume is no longer a one-time wear thing.  So I've started to think that’s it’s not bad after all to spend a little more on costumes. These days I see to it that her costume is durable enough to withstand multiple washes given all the stains from candies & cakes after each event.  And if I choose wisely, these Halloween pieces can also be worn in other occasions like birthday parties or dress up play dates.  Much more, it is a huge bonus if it can be passed on to her cousins and friends.

Girl's Fall Fashion Must Haves - 2015

Fall/Winter seasons are the busiest seasons I must say.  Aside from the fact that kids are back to school, there are a lot of holiday celebrations to look forward to.  Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year to name a few --  and for busy, practical and stylish parents it’s great to have some sort of checklist.  Of course, one given is to have a good quality coat that is durable and will last for a longer period of time. I also list the other wardrobe essentials for our little ladies that will have them all set for this busy season:

4 Tips on Choosing Accessories For Your Girls

I’m currently taking some fashion styling courses at the Fashion Institute of Technology and there are some important things that I have realized.  As what my brother (who is a photographer) told me before -- stylists play a very important role in fashion photography.  Although most of the time, they’re left unrecognized because usually all the credits go to the photographer. But without a good stylist the objective of producing a good fashion story may not be achieved.  And one of the most important elements in styling is accessories.

Choosing the right accessories like hair accessories help you achieve your desired image and style. Case in point, you can have the best dress but when paired with a wrong accessory you can totally ruin an entire look.  For those who simply love fashion just like most of our customers at Chichi Mary, it’s also important to level up your girl’s fashion style through appropriate headpieces.  That’s why I’m really excited to add couture headpieces from Republic of Pigtails at Chichi Mary!

Spanish Kids Fashion At Its Best!

I’m a self-confessed fan of Spanish fashion from shoes to clothing!  And no, I’m not referring to fast fashion Spanish brands like Zara and Mango which most people are familiar with. Instead, I’m referring to designer/boutique brands of Spanish clothing & shoes. Through these designer brands, you notice that Spanish designs are very intricate, flamboyant and unique yet still come at reasonable prices compared to other global brands.

I think Spanish kids fashion has its own distinctive fashion style that you will immediately recognize from Spanish brands. Spanish kids fashion is all about voluminous silhouettes and flamboyant designs.  That’s why when we went to Madrid last year to attend the kids fashion week, I went in targeting to really work with Spanish brand owners.  Admittedly, the language barrier made it more difficult but eventually (with lots of help from Google Translate), I was able to find fabulous Spanish brand owners.  This year we added Oca-Loca and Mary Jane Velvet  Shoes to our shoe collection  and now, we’re adding one of the famous Spanish children’s wear brand from Spain --Tartaleta.  A brand that perfectly suits a Chichi Mary girl!

Showstopper Holiday Dresses Straight From The Runway

As we’re getting closer to the holiday season, the search for metallic outfits is inevitable.  There’s something about the holiday season that inspires most of us to have that glam look.  Our little girls are no exception.  Girls’ special occasion dresses are mostly beautiful tulle dresses or brocade dresses.   We have seen these designs over and over again and I have seen little girls who have never been tired of wearing their favorite tulle dresses.  From department stores to specialty boutiques, all these tulle dresses are being offered. But why settle for something common and ordinary?  If you have special event to attend this holiday season or you simply want your girl’s holiday dress to be a showstopper, I highly recommend Chichi Mary's latest sequined and lace dresses from Biscotti.  This latest collection is straight from the runway of Petite Parade in New York City.
