Experiencing Japanese Onsen

The peak of the winter season in New England makes me look back at one of our favorite experiences in Japan two years ago. It was a very random activity during our last trip in Japan that we decided to give Japanese onsen a try. Onsen is Japanese for hot springs and it's really part of the Japanese culture to go to these bath houses. At first, we were a bit worried having a four year old daughter at that time join us for this kind of activity but surprisingly, there were a lot of family activities inside the bath facility.  Needless to say, our daughter had a blast. On this post, we share our Japanese Onsen experience in Yokohama.

Mom and Daughter Twinning

These days I’ve seen so many moms and daughters sharing the same style of clothing.  This is commonly referred to as twinning.  The joy of having a daughter also feeds our fantasy of having a mini-me and it’s undeniably true that dressing up our little girls brings so much joy to us moms.  Aside from my love for fashion since I was 3, my love for kids fashion started when I had a daughter, who is extra delighted whenever I put a good dress on her. And so this has been the inspiration behind our girl's boutique, Chichi Mary

In these days when twinning has become more obvious and prevalent because of the popularity of social media, when do you say it’s just too much?  On this blog post, I talk about some of the tips on how to make twinning more effortlessly chic.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine’s Day is one of my daughter’s favorite special days.  She’s always delighted to give and receive Valentine cards from families, friends, and classmates.  I used to get really excited for Valentine’s Day when I was living in the Philippines but given the arctic weather in February here in New England, it’s a bit of an effort for us to go out, brave the cold weather and enjoy a fancy dinner.  But as my daughter says, Valentine’s Day is a day of showing love, kindness and friendship.  Perhaps, it’s a better way of looking at this special day.

And because it's Valentine's Day, I think about romantic dressing and I couldn't think of any other brands from our online girl’s boutique, Chichi Mary, that embodies romanticism more than Tartaleta.  It is a brand that is an epitome of Spanish kids fashion.  Every little girl is especially pleased with a Tartaleta dress.  Here are some of the cutest and sweetest pictures from the runway show in Madrid.

Stella Cove Spring/Summer 2016

I have been working on Chichi Mary for almost three years now, and during that time I've had the pleasure of being exposed to lots and lots of beautiful girls' dresses and the fabulous brands and designers that create them.  But I have to confess that even from the very beginning, one my of favorite brands that we feature in our online kid’s boutique is Stella Cove.

This was even before I knew that this brand has been worn by celebrities all over the world like the Princess of Lichtenstein, Jennifer Garner’s daughter, Kourtney Kardashian’s son Mason, and Soleil Moon Frye’s daughters to name a few.

I love Stella Cove not just because of its very clean and sleek designs but especially because I’m impressed with the beauty of its unique and colorful prints.  Every year, I’m delighted whenever I see Stella Cove’s new prints.  And this year, I’m even more excited because the brand just introduced a new silhouette -- a great spring/summer party dress. It is a classic silhouette but with gorgeous prints, giving it a unique and modern appeal that is not often seen in other kids brands.
